SCHOOL LIFE - Qi Xun
the world is but a broken dream
see the schools and you'll know what i mean
vain students who only care about their looks
others buried in all kinds of books
students falling in love till their brains turn to mush
stick around a lil' longer, you see their dreams crushed
if u don't believe, come with me and look around
you might not see anything special, so i'll tell you what i've found
hear the girl crying at her seat?
she has failed her exams, now crying in defeat
for she knows that redemption is just too late
perhaps one day she might accept her fate
see that kid trying hard to disappear?
he's just trying to hide from someone he fears,
a 'creature' who likes to have people's body mained
so severe that he prays for an aid from a saint
notice that boy in the canteen holding a flower?
he's about to turn his sweet love life downright sour
for she's about to decline his gift
from then on, their relationship has developed a rift
look at the boy trying hard to stay awake?
he stares at the clock, wondering how long will the lesson take
for the lifeless teacher preaches on things he does not understand
babbling something about the atomic structure of sand
his eyes finally give in, his brain shutting down,
the last thing he see, is the teacher's ugly frown,
see the guy frantically approaching classrooms?
he needs a tie this instant, or he is doomed!
or he will be sentenced to a cage of boredom & silence,
guarded by dogs and an electric fence,
to go there is a verdict worse than execution,
it is known to all of us as 'detention'
school is a place full of woes and pain,
after all this schooling, what do we gain?
just a piece of paper to prove we've been there,
to the companies, its significant is mere.
